A Dried Memory

I recently was given several boxes from my husband’s aunt’s pantry. The boxes are filled with 1/2 pint and pint jars. Most of the jars are full. They are all old enough that they need emptied out. Every time I run my dishwasher I go get a few of those jars, empty them and add them to the dishwasher. I’m close to having all the jars empty. I grabbed a few the other day and one of the jars did not have food. The jar had a dried rose.

I have no idea where the rose came from. Someone may have given it to her or she could have saved it from a loved one’s funeral. She had a precious memory attached to that rose. She stored it in that jar so that it would be protected. If she were still here she could tell us about that memory. Since she passed away a few years ago I can only speculate as to where this rose came from. I do believe this rose was a pre ious memory for her.
