Day 30 of Indiana Quarantine

I thought that I would share a comfort food recipe today. I love a grilled cheese sandwich with cream of tomato soup. I found this recipe in an old cookbook given to me by a neighbor. I have changed it a bit by using milk in place of cream. So I’m sharing the recipe the way I make it.

Cream of Tomato Soup

1 pt tomato juice
1 quart milk
2 T butter
1 T flour

Cream butter and flour together, add hot juice. Stir quickly or use whisk to smooth. Cook until thickens. Add to warm milk slowly. Salt to taste.
