We bought something for us last week. We bought a Can-am Spyder. We bought one in 2012 and sold it in 2015. We have missed it ever since. We went last week and found us a new one. Troy has his motorcycle license and I have the trike endorsement on my license. I have been known in the past to go get our groceries on the Spyder.
We have ridden almost every night since. We love to ride after dark during hot weather. To ride under the stars is awesome. Last night we seen Jupiter in the sky as we were riding with friends. We got home around midnight last night.
Now I’m once again starting a Spyder bucket list.
We are planning on riding again tonight. I’m looking forward to another evening under the stars.
Our 4th of July weekend was a full weekend. On Saturday the 4th we had the Law family reunion. It was good to see all who turned out for the reunion. This reunion happens every year close to the 4th of July. Photo credits go to Teresa Clark and my daughter’s friend Keirstin.
Later that evening we were invited over to our neighbors for their 4th of July party. They put on a really good show of fireworks.
Sunday we had all our grandkids here. We ended up having a big sleepover and Papaw came in with donuts for their breakfast this morning.
Wednesday was spent mostly working in my office. I did take a few breaks to get yoga in and a workout on my rowing machine. I also made a run to the post office and bank,
Wednesday evening after fixing a meal for my daughter and her family was spent on the lawn mower. My husband and I were both on mowers. We work together to take care of our property. I did manage to finish the blanket for one if my grandsons. He requested this for his birthday.
It’s late and I’m heading to bed. Here are a few pictures from today.
I’m sitting out on our deck listening to the sound around me.
I can hear the bull frogs, tree frogs, an owl in the distance and our neighbor kids playing in their front yard. I think they are catching lightening bugs. I enjoy all the sounds around me. It’s relaxing to listen to the night sounds.
Now fireworks are added into the mix. I love that we have the freedom to celebrate our freedom. Even in the midst of all the unrest and chaos I am grateful to live where I live. I’m so very thankful for those who came before us. They fought and many died so that we could have the freedoms we have. So many fellow citizens do not know our true history. They only skim over things in our schools and leave out so many facts. If one is interested in our history you can log into the Library of Congress and there you will find a treasure trove of historical documents, journals, and books that tell our nation’s story. Not many people are interested in the truth nowadays. Well there I went off on a rabbit trail again.
I’m still sitting outside enjoying the sounds around me. The night sky is beautiful. My Tiki torches allow me to sit out here at night without the pesky mosquitoes bothering me.
We had two young yellow finches get inside our garage today. It took forever to get them out. One finally made it out. The other one had to be wore down so that my husband could just pick it up and take it outside.
We were going to head back to the farm this weekend, but we didn’t feel like we needed to leave Troy’s Mom. We have both had a very busy week and we are wore out.
We added a pergola to our deck for shade. So I am sitting under it this morning as I have my coffee.
Today we are working on a new flower bed in the front yard. I am hoping to get it finished.
My baby chicks are coming along. Momma hen fiercely protects them. Finn is leary of being in her area because she has gotten him a few time.
I’m staying away from the news these days. Our media is an embarrassment. They live to promote fear. This pandemic has a 98% survival rate. Our liberal left are using it to control and fight against Trump. He is the first president in a long time that the elite do not own. I did not vote for him because of his polished manners or his morals. I voted for him because I thought he could stand up to the elite who want to destroy our nation. I love our nation. We have freedoms that many do not. If we work hard we can succeed here in our nation. Hard work and perseverance is something seldom seen any more. We have a generation that wants everything handed to them . I’ve always been a firm believer in being the change you want to see. If you want to see police reform, then get into the academy and become a policeman. I know several good men and women who are police. If you want to see a difference in our government, then run for office. There are a lot of people willing to back new politicians. Rioting and destroying businesses that took a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to build does nothing but turn people away from your cause. Another way to bring change is to quit voting the same old politicians into office. We do literally need to drain the swamp of all the politicians that have been in there for life. They should have term limits and they should not be paid a government salary for life. They can go back out into the workforce and make there own way just as we have to do. They would consider their lawmaking decisions much more carefully if they had to return to civilian life. Those nuts in Seattle who were allowed(by a democratic governor and mayor) to take 6 blocks of Seattle should be cut off. They say they are not part of the USA. If that is the case shut their water and power off. They can make their own. No food should cross the barrier unless they pay tariffs on it. See how long they last then. They literally need cut off from any US resources. I know I am venting today, but I’m just so tired of all the BS.
I’m going to enjoy my weekend and I hope everyone else does the same.
We spent the weekend on the farm. We got our second calf of the season tagged. This weekend was spent preparing for a solar electric fence. When we come back our unit will be charged and ready to hook up.
We have heard the Bob White call all weekend. My husband helped load my dad’s hay.
I brought steak with us to grill for Father’s Day for my husband. I also stir fried some broccoli slaw for him. He needed this weekend out here.
We are getting ready to head back to our home in Indiana. I have a lot of running to do tomorrow. Getting my haircut is one of my stops tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good week.
